Niamh is our Managing Partner and cofounder of Fastnet.  She is passionate about partnering with clients and candidates to optimise talent outcomes and build highly successful organisations where talent is valued and nurtured.

A graduate of University College Cork, University of Limerick and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management (FCIPD), Niamh’s early career was as a HR Generalist with Creganna (now Creganna Medical) and she later went on to become a founding Director of Fastnet in 1999.

Niamh has led the Fastnet operation for almost 20 years providing a diverse range of Recruitment & Staffing, Executive Search, HR consulting and Talent solutions, primarily to clients in the Life Sciences, Food-Agri and associated Business Services sectors.

Fastnet are the Irish member firm for IRC Global Executive Search Partners, the world’s largest Global Executive Search Alliance and Niamh was appointed to the position of EMEA Practice Leader for the Healthcare & Lifesciences Practice Group in 2015.

To unwind, Niamh enjoys the great outdoors, playing tennis, good food and spending time with family and friends.

Éimhín is a graduate of University College Cork (BSc Biochemistry in 1999, Higher Diploma in Management & Marketing 2000).

Her early career was with Qualtrace Solutions (LIMS Consultancy) and then with Warner Lambert (Pfizer Ireland Pharmaceuticals) in a Validation role supporting site expansion.

Éimhín was the third family member to join the Fastnet Team in 2002 with a focus on specialist Quality and Engineering roles within the Life Sciences, Food-Agri and Engineering sectors. She was appointed to the position of Director of Executive Search in 2013 and later Partner in 2016.

With almost 15 years’ experience in talent acquisition and search, Éimhín has a well-established network and a proven track record of sourcing and attracting senior technical executives for key clients. She is hugely customer focused and takes pride in building long term partnerships and relationships with clients and candidates.

In her free time Éimhín enjoys running, cycling, hill walking and golf. She has completed 3 Marathons including 2 in 2015 - The Cork City Marathon and London Marathon. 

Ann Daly is our Finance & IT Lead and is based in our Cork office.  Ann has 20 years’ experience in Finance.  She has extensive experience in multinational manufacturing site operations within the Lifesciences sector. 

We recently caught up with Ann to find out a little bit more about her and understand what motivates her.  

What is your professional background?

I graduated from University College Cork with a BComm.  I am a fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and recently completed Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification.   I worked with Merck Millipore for 18 years, with my recent role being Senior Financial Controller – Operations.

What has been the highlight of your career?

Discovering that my values are aligned with those of Fastnet and working with a wonderful group of people who

live the Fastnet values of Integrity, Entrepreneurial Spirit and Partnering The Fastnet Way.  Another highlight has been the completion of an efficiency improvement project for Fastnet as part of my Lean Sigma Black Belt qualification

What is your role in Fastnet?

I am the Finance & IT Lead.  As a member of the Fastnet Leadership Team, I play a key role in partnering with the senior leadership team in strategic decision making and robust business planning.  As Finance Lead, I am responsible for budgeting, reporting and forecasting financial performance and ensuring Financial Control is maintained.  As IT Lead, I am responsible for ensuring Fastnet’s IT and data security needs are understood and implemented to a best in class standard.  As Contract Solutions Lead, I work with an energetic and dedicated team of contract solutions specialists to ensure Fastnet provide an excellent service to clients and candidates. Additionally, I am responsible for all aspects of the smooth operation and continuous improvement program within the office.

What do you love most about your role?

I love the variety of content in my role that can only be afforded by working in a boutique talent management company.

What motivates you?

Working in a team environment to a well understood purpose.  Seeing the fruits of my labour, in particular in the areas of continuous improvements. A Thank You!

Who inspires you?

My father.  He had to make hard decisions at an early age to seek out life’s opportunities and worked hard to progress and succeed in his career but always put his family to the fore.

What do you do in your spare time?

I am kept busy.  I enjoy playing pitch and putt, going for walks, along with pilates strength and conditioning classes. Lots of time is spent on the side-lines cheering on my three children at their activities!

Laura Curtin is our Marketing Manager and based in the Cork office.  She has over 20 years’ experience in Marketing and Corporate Communications.  Laura is a highly skilled and well-trained marketing communications professional.  

We recently caught up with Laura to find out a little bit more about her and understand what motivates her.  

What is your professional background?

I spent a few years in CIT and Carlow Institute of Technology studying Marketing, and graduated from UL with a Bachelor of Business Studies (Marketing & IT).  I have worked with global organisations including Aramark, Cadbury, Kraft Foods, Glanbia, Musgrave, and Flex developing and managing the Marketing, Corporate Affairs, Internal Communications, and CSR functions in many of them. During this time, I furthered my education and skills with an Advanced National Certificate in Training & Continuing Development from NUI Maynooth and recently became a credited marketer with the Digital Marketing Institute.

What has been the highlight of your career?

That is an easy one!  Being responsible for the Corporate Affairs function for Cadbury’s sponsorship of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games.  I spent 18 months working with a fantastic team to deliver the biggest sponsorship programme for such an iconic brand.  I got to deliver amazing campaigns and meet a lot of inspirational individuals.

What is your role in Fastnet?

I am responsible for all the marketing communications for the company, both internal and external focused.  This is a great role as I get to engage with a wide variety of people daily and work on creative campaigns.

Reading, watching rugby, spending time with my family & friends, and travel!!

Sinead joined the Fastnet Engineering team in 2018.  She holds a Master’s Degree in Exercise and Sport Psychology, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Business (Marketing and Management).  She has worked in Ireland and Canada, with over 10 years’ customer service experience.  

Prior to joining Fastnet, Sinead has worked in administration, managed a gym, and was an exercise and sports psychologist.  Building an excellent rapport with customers and clients is very important to Sinead. 

Sinead is a sports enthusiast playing camogie and soccer.  She has won 2 county medals with camogie and 3 league titles with soccer.  She holds 5 coaching badges and volunteers as a coach for her local underage GAA teams.

Claire holds a BSc. in Nutritional Sciences and MSc. in Public health from University College of Cork

Her early career was with Britvic Ireland as a Quality Co-ordinator and she later moved on to NBTY Europe to take up the position of Manager and Training Co-ordinator. Claire joined the Fastnet Team in 2012 as a Quality Consultant and was appointed to the position of Business Unit Lead (Quality & Laboratory) in 2015.  

Claire now leads a growing team of specialist Quality consultants across Fastnet’s Cork and Dublin offices. Their primary focus is on sourcing and attracting Quality and Laboratory professionals for clients in the Pharma, BioPharma, Medical Device and Agri/Food sectors and supporting candidates in the sector who wish to develop their careers.   

In Claire’s free time she enjoys going to the gym, spending time with family and friends and a bit of shopping!

Therese specialises in recruiting Quality and Laboratory professionals for clients in the Pharma, BioPharma, Medical Device, Agri Food and Business Service sectors.   

A graduate of University College of Cork, Therese holds an MA in English Language and Literature. Prior to joining the Fastnet team, Therese worked in both public and private sectors gaining a wealth of customer relations, presentation and training skills.

At Fastnet, she enjoys partnering with clients to help them attract top talent to their organisations and with candidates to facilitate their career development.  Therese is based in our Dublin office.

Outside of work, Therese sings in a band and enjoys going to music Festivals.

T.J, an Indian native, has been living in Cork for over 4 years’ now. Starting her Irish journey in the capital, she attended The Michael Smurfit Business School obtaining an Msc in International Business having previously studied Business Management in MG University in India.

TJ has worked in various roles in customer service, professional development and team building. She enjoys working as part of a team and prides herself in her ability to create strong professional relationships with both clients and candidates.

Having joined Fastnet in February 2018 as the fourth member of the Quality & Laboratory team, TJ will be working from the Cork office on Technical, QC and Micro roles.

In her spare time TJ enjoys cooking, exploring new places and listening to good music.

Jill Madden is our Supply Chain & Operations Business Unit Lead.  Jill has over 18+ years’ experience in talent acquisition.  Jill’s wealth of knowledge and depth of experience allows her to assist candidates realise their full potential and career objectives along with supporting our key clients in attracting and selecting the best professional talent for their organisations. 

We recently caught up with Jill to find out a little bit more about her and understand what motivates her.  

What is your professional background?

I graduated from UCC with a Bachelor of Arts.  I went onto complete a CIPD diploma also.  I have worked in recruitment since 1999 and been with Fastnet for over eight years. 

What is your role in Fastnet?

I manage the Supply Chain & Operations and the Business Services teams, which are responsible for matching “top talent” with leading Life Sciences companies nationwide from graduate through to Director level.

What do you love most about your role?

The team in Fastnet, but also helping people take the next career step and the impact that has on them.

What has been the highlight of your time with Fastnet so far? 

Seeing a candidate, you placed at a junior / mid-level with a company develop and be promoted to a senior leader.

Dara specialises in recruiting Manufacturing/Operations Professionals for clients in the Pharma, BioPharma, Medical Device and Agri/Food sectors.

A UCD graduate, Dara has a wealth of experience in Corporate Key Account Management having previously held the position of Regional Sales & Service Manager Support for AIB.

Dara joined the Fastnet Team in 2014 and has a strong appreciation of the contemporary market, its challenges and the critical part she plays in attracting the best talent that can, ultimately, make such a difference in driving the necessary performance for her clients.

Outside of her professional career, Dara has a passion for music and is a talented musician and performer. She is also a handy tag rugby player and enjoys horse-riding. 

Emmie holds an Honours Bachelors of Arts in Economics and Political Science from University College Cork. She is currently studying her Masters in Business from Cork Institute of Technology.

Prior to working for Fastnet, Emmie held a number of retail management positions in Dublin and Cork .

In her spare time Emmie enjoys cooking, hiking, and travel.

Martha joined the Fastnet Team in early 2016 as part of the Administration & Finance department. Due to the exponential growth of the unit and Martha’s unwavering track record in the sector she now heads the I.T & Admin unit.

A graduate of CIT, Martha holds a Degree in Business Management and has over 3 years’ experience in recruitment

Martha is energetic and approachable and enjoys partnering with top clients in the life science sector. She prides herself in her ability to create strong relationships with her candidates, spending time on understanding their needs and aspirations.

Martha is a sporting enthusiast, having won an All-Ireland medal and three county championships with her local football team.

Executive Search Consultant with extensive experience in Senior Executive level assignments including General Manager, Site Leader,and Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Marketing and Human Resources roles. Richard’s standing as an Industry Expert is based on his exceptional customer focus, his ability to build collaborative relationships with clients and candidates and his achievement orientation. In addition, he has a notable track record of successfully delivering domestic and international executive search assignments in the Biopharmaceutical, Medical Technology, ICT, Engineering, Consumer Goods & Business Services Sectors. His clients have included Global Multinationals, indigenous SMEs and Not for Profit organisations. He has managed an extensive number of Senior Executive level assignments including General Manager, Site Leader, and Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain/Logistics, Marketing and Human Resources roles. Prior to specialising in Executive Search with GMB, Richard worked at Leadership Level in Human Resources and Leadership Development. In these roles, he worked for a variety of US Zenith Computers), Japanese (Fujitsu Isotec) UK (YCY Ltd) Multinational companies in the Electronic, Engineering, and Pharmaceutical Sectors. Richard is a chartered member of the CIPD, in addition following completion of a Diploma Course in Executive Coaching with the Irish Management Institute in 2010 he has practiced as a Performance / Executive Coach. He is a member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC). Richard has significant experience in Psychometrics, and he holds a British Psychological Society Qualification in Occupational Testing, Levels A & B. He is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI), BarOn Emotional Quotient Inventory (EQ-i), 16PF and Talent Q Dimensions personality assessments instruments. Richard’s pastimes include hill walking, cycling, and yoga. He is also a Dublin GAA, Leinster Rugby, and Liverpool FC supporter. He is a regular reader of Biographies and Memoirs.

Nicole is a graduate of Oberlin College, where she graduated with a BA in Art History and Criticism. She joined the Fastnet team in 2015 in a research role supporting retained assignments for leading Pharmaceutical, Biotechnology, Medical Device and industrial companies in Ireland. Prior to joining Fastnet, Nicole spent 8 years working with Nations Training, a specialist provider of high value added English, communication and intercultural awareness-building for multinational corporate clients. In this role, Nicole prepared and delivered tailor-made business English, cultural and presentation workshops to Senior International Executives supporting on boarding, team building and corporate development for key clients. In Nicole’s spare time, she enjoys swimming and yoga, travelling and the arts as well as spending time with her family.

Jennifer is a graduate of University College Cork, holding a Bachelor of Commerce degree, and holds a Masters in Human Resources Management from Cork Institute of Technology. She joined Fastnet’s Commercial team in 2013, focusing on talent acquisition in Finance & Accounting, Administration and Customer Service. In late 2016, Jennifer moved to our Talent & Transformation division, and is currently involved in client RPO solutions & talent management projects. Prior to joining Fastnet, Jennifer had a background in sales & customer service, and is passionate about creating the best possible experience for her clients. In her free time, she enjoys attending spinning classes, trying out new recipes and keeping up to date with the fashion industry.

Ailish was one of the first employees to join Fastnet and has played an integral part in growing and developing the Fastnet Contract Services Division which now supports a large contingent workforce across multiple client sites. Ailish now leads and coordinates Contract Services for Fastnet supporting Contract Administration, Payroll and Finance whilst ensuring both internal and external customers receive a five star service. She is a qualified payroll technician and is highly experienced in all aspects of payroll and related taxation. In her spare time, Ailish enjoys reading, walking and spending time with family and friends.

Deirdre joined the Fastnet Team in 2014 and now plays a key role in supporting a large contingent workforce across multiple client sites for Fastnet’s Contract Services Division. Prior to joining Fastnet Deirdre worked for a number of blue chip multinational companies including Heineken, Apple and Taco Bell Corporation and has a broad range of international experience in customer service, legal & contract administration and supporting C-level Executives. In her role at Fastnet, Deirdre is passionate about facilitating a seamless on boarding process for clients and candidates and thereafter supporting all stakeholders at all stages of the contract life cycle. She believes in building strong relationships and facilitates regular on-site clinics to ensure accessibility to Fastnet support for contractors and hiring managers. In her free time Deirdre enjoys playing tennis and going for long walks.

Pat has a B.Sc. in Chemistry, Masters in Physical Organic Chemistry and an MBA from University College Cork. His early career was with Pfizer as a Technical Manager during the start-up of the first pharmaceutical operation in Ireland. In 1977, Pat went on to join FMC International for the start-up of its Irish pharmaceutical operation. He was appointed General Manager in 1979 and later General Manager, Europe. Pat was a founding Director of Fastnet in 1999. His breadth and depth of experience in the pharma sector has been invaluable in terms of nurturing and realising Fastnet’s vision to become a market leader in the Life Sciences sector. He is a past President of the Federation of Irish Chemical Industry (now BioPharmaChemical Ireland), a former Director of the Irish Trade Board and former Chairman of the Cork Cancer Research Centre. Pat is a keen golfer and plays regularly with friends and family.

Adam is a member of the Supply Chain & Operations team. He holds a Certificate in Computer Science and has completed Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification. He has extensive experience in customer service, team management, client relationships and meeting targets in a dynamic environment. Prior to joining Fastnet, Adam worked Retail, Customer Service Management and the Life Sciences sector. Building an excellent rapport with customers and clients is very important to Adam. In his spare time, Adam enjoys cooking, baking, music and TV.

Siobhan is a member of the Quality & Laboratory team.  She holds a BA in History and Sociology from University College Cork and a MA International Relations (Diplomacy) from the University of Reading. She has worked in Ireland, New Zealand and Canada and has experience in Sales, Logistics and Customer Service.

Prior to joining Fastnet, Siobhan worked in Logistics, Winter Sports activities, Online product design, and Hospitality.  Building an excellent relationship with customers and clients is very important to Siobhan.

In her spare time Siobhan enjoys going to the gym, hiking, baking and socialising.
