Their goal is to develop long-term relationships with their clients and become the partner of choice for clients in the life sciences sector.

As a Safety Manager you will play a crucial role in overseeing and implementing safety measures to ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards with various clients in Cork. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate risks associated with medical devices and technology products.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the implementation of the construction safety strategy into the projects, with a focus on Behavioural Bases.
  • Review of the construction and C&Q HSE plans.
  • Review of Method Statements and Risk Assessments
  • Review of the work permits and SPA's / JSA's / TRA's.
  • Support/advise the project manager during all phases of the project concerning safety performance (leading and lagging indicators).
  • Coach/support the EL Engineering construction managers and project managers with the latest practices and procedures.
  • Review existing safety procedures, and feedback to senior management with recommendations for updates and changes.
  • Coach/support the contractors with practices and procedures.
  • Roll out / implement a safety incentive plan.
  • Participate in the EHSE checklist review.
  • Participate in the constructability review.
  • Track safety statistics and start-up improvement plans if needed.
  • Establish a relationship with the client and local EHS team and get familiar with the local (safety) procedures.
  • Lead and/or support incident investigations.

Requirements:

  • A third-level qualification in Environmental Safety, Occupational Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable environment.
  • Proven construction safety management excellence, demonstrated over multiple assignments.
  • Knowledge of Medical Devices and Pharmaceutical product development and manufacturing facilities and plant operations are highly desirable.
  • SME for safety and environment.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
