Summary:

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with project stakeholders to define electrical requirements and specifications for medical devices targeted towards specific client needs.
  • Design and develop electrical circuits, systems, and components for medical devices, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations (e.g., ISO 13485, IEC 60601).
  • Conduct feasibility studies, risk assessments, and technical evaluations to support the selection of appropriate electrical components and technologies.
  • Create schematic diagrams, PCB layouts, and wiring diagrams using CAD tools to facilitate the manufacturing and assembly of electrical systems.
  • Prototype, test, and iterate electrical designs to optimize performance, reliability, and manufacturability of medical devices.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and mechanical engineering teams to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall device architecture.
  • Perform troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and resolution of electrical issues during development, testing, and production phases.
  • Generate technical documentation, including design specifications, test protocols, and reports, to support regulatory submissions and client deliverables.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to medical device electrical engineering.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to the enhancement of engineering processes, tools, and methodologies.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within the medical device industry.
  • Experience with design verification and validation methodologies, including test planning, execution, and documentation.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and collaborate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality electrical designs on schedule and within budget constraints.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adapt to evolving project requirements.
