Summary:

My client, a leading South Dublin based Institute are looking for a Characterisation Scientist Upstream Processing to join their team on a 12-Month basis. You will be joining an active project focused on the development of integrated autonomous analytical systems for upstream process monitoring. To be successful in this role you will have solid general analytical skills and proven experience in LC-MS, ideally using Orbitrap instruments for small molecule and protein analysis. You'll also have an understanding of the theory and practical application of analytical spectroscopy. If you would like to be part of this project and feel you have the experience necessary as outlined below. Please get in touch to arrange a confidential discussion.

Responsibilities:

  • Become a specialist in process analytical monitoring of antibody producing cell cultures using integrated LC-MS, Raman spectroscopy, cell counters and nutrient analysers.
  • Deliver autonomous analytics that enable multiple bioreactor monitoring in an unsupervised fashion and real time process control based on closed loop feedback of your analytical data.
  • Provide fast and accurate updates to internal stakeholders and collaborative partners so that everyone is sharing the journey.
  • Support and learn from collaborating scientists from our industrial partner's Process Development and Analytical Development Teams who'll assist with making what you develop fit for deployment in the regulated manufacturing environment.

Requirements:

  • You hold a PhD or higher degree with equivalent research experience in a discipline that makes you suitable for this challenge.
  • You understand the challenges in biopharmaceutical manufacturing and characterisation, and you're motivated to realise the potential of delivering solutions to enable real time process monitoring and control.
  • You have relevant, broad experience, you'll know how to manage data, analyse large data sets from disparate sources and develop visualisation tools in addition to being practical and analytically excellent.
