Responsibilities:

· Operational excellence and innovation strategy

1. Deriving requirements from strategic and economic parameters for further process development

2. Performing detailed process analyses, identifying optimization levers, defining solution concepts and the setup of a medium to long-term process management strategy for the plant

3. Process optimization (procedures, automation and operator systems)

4. Selection and sustainable use of optimization tools (e.g. lean management tools)

5. Obtaining support from centres of competence or technology units

· Compliance with statutory and company guidelines regarding the production process, by

1. Taking the lead in safety reviews

2. Inquiry into EHS events and implementation of preventive or corrective measures

· Initiating and setting up of plant modifications/investments with focus on process and safety

· Training and documentation of production process

1. Development of process documentation

2. Overview of operational training concepts and training of mentors for special topics in the plant

Requirements:

· Have a Primary Honours Degree in a Chemistry/ Chemical Engineering discipline

· Have a minimum of 5 years post graduate experience within a Chemical/Pharmaceutical plant

· Drive innovation and sustainable solutions by thinking 'out of the box' and taking leadership

· Take ownership and show persistence and pro-activity to achieve results and to exceed

· Lead project teams and contribute to the overall site performance

· Be an effective communicator

· Have a high level of proficiency with software tools - MS Office, SAP, Power-point
