Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Big Pink Breakfast

05/10/2022

We kicked off Breast Cancer Awareness Month in the Cork office this morning.

By having our very own 'Big Pink Breakfast', Fastnet - The Talent Group are raising funds for breast cancer patients and their families in Ireland.

Funds raised from this event will go towards supporting lifechanging cancer research and vital services for breast cancer patients in communities across the country. Our goal is to help the Irish Cancer Society to continue making a difference in the lives of breast cancer patients and their families, and together we can ensure that no-one has to go through their breast cancer journey alone.

The Fastnet gang really got into the spirit of the 'Big Pink Breakfast', dressed in pink and tucking into some delicious pink treats.

The theme of the Irish Cancer Society's Breast Cancer Awareness campaign is 'Care For Your Pair'.

If you would like to make a donation, see our fundraising page here.

Changes in your breasts to be aware of:

  •  A lump or thickening in your breast or armpit.
  • A change in the size or shape of one breast.
  • A change in the skin of your breast, like puckering or dimpling (the skin may look like orange peel).
  • A breast abscess (infected boil) – this may appear as a red, tender area on your breast.
  • A change in your nipple, like a pulled-in, sunken or flattened nipple.
  • An unusual discharge (liquid) from one or both of your nipples – the discharge may be blood-stained or watery.
  • A change on or around the nipple, such as a rash or flaky or crusted skin.
  • Swelling in your armpit or around your collarbone.

Breast pain alone is not usually a sign of breast cancer.

These symptoms can be caused by other things, but always get them checked by your family doctor.
