Managing Organisational Change in Cork

CIPD Southern Region Hosts HR Professionals from the Region

The CIPD Southern Region briefing, sponsored by Fastnet Recruitment, attracted over 100 HR professionals to an event on organisational change this week. The keynote speaker, Dr. Paul Mooney, a renowned specialist in personal and organisational change, was welcomed by Charlie Dolan, CIPD Southern Region Chair.

“Change is continuous; it always has been. It surrounds us and impacts us in every aspect of our daily lives. The challenge for us as individuals is to change with it,” he stated as an introduction to the insightful and energetic presentation by Dr. Paul Mooney.

Mooney challenged organisations to acknowledge and recognize the drivers for change in their businesses, and claimed that many organisations today were ‘in denial’ about the need for strategic change. By creating a powerful picture of what tomorrow can look like in the organisation, change can be positively embraced in every level of the organisation from employees to management and vice-versa.

Niamh O’Driscoll, Managing Director, Fastnet Recruitment and event sponsor, spoke of the relevance of change for every HR professional regardless of company size or sector. The event provided HR and business professionals from indigenous and multinational organisations in the Cork region with a refreshing take on the management of change. The CIPD Southern Region has a busy schedule of events planned; the next one being “The Do’s and Don’ts of Bullying and Harassment Investigations” which will be held on 30th November in Port of Cork at 5.30pm.
